WWIII Warning Issued After Trump’s Explosive Message to Putin
In a fresh escalation of rhetoric, U.S. President Donald Trump has taken a hard stance against Russian President Vladimir Putin, accusing him of recklessly refusing to engage in ceasefire talks with Ukraine. The remarks come as Russia has launched one of its most intense waves of missile and drone attacks on Ukraine since the full-scale war began in February 2022. Russian forces are reportedly making aggressive advances in northeastern Ukraine.
Posting on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote:
“Putin doesn’t realize that if it weren’t for me, a lot of very bad things would have already happened in Russia. And I mean very bad things. He’s playing with fire.”
Trump didn’t elaborate on what those “very bad things” might have been, but the statement suggests his belief that his past leadership helped prevent further escalation. Trump has frequently touted his friendly relations with Putin and claimed he could have prevented the war had he been in office.
In response to Trump’s warning, Dmitry Medvedev, Russia’s former president and top security official, issued a chilling counter on social media platform X:
“Regarding Trump’s statement about Putin playing with fire and very bad things happening to Russia — I only know of one very bad thing: WWIII. I hope Trump understands this.”
This cryptic message is widely interpreted as a thinly veiled threat of global conflict, further stoking tensions between the two nuclear powers.
Trump had already raised eyebrows earlier this week by calling Putin “absolutely insane” in a post referencing Russia’s recent aerial assault on Ukraine. According to reports, the two leaders spoke for nearly two hours last week, after which Putin suggested that Russia was open to working with Ukraine on a framework for peace negotiations, including a potential ceasefire timeline.
