Russian Air Force Strengthened with Arrival of Su-35S Multirole Jets

Russia’s Air Force has received the first batch of Su-35S multirole fighter jets from the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC). The company confirmed that these fourth-generation plus (4++) aircraft were fully tested before being delivered. After thorough checks by military technical personnel, the first batch of jets was sent to the designated airbase. These advanced jets are expected to significantly enhance the Russian Air Force’s capabilities, particularly as the country remains engaged in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Capable of striking targets in the air, on the ground, and at sea, the Su-35S can operate in all weather conditions, anytime and anywhere.

Modern Technology and Enhanced Capabilities of the Su-35S

According to Vladimir Artyakov of Rostec, the Su-35S is equipped with modern weaponry and long-range targeting systems, enabling it to strike enemies from distances well beyond its airbase. The aircraft features new digital control engines that allow for rapid changes in direction, improving its overall performance. The Su-35S marks an important step for Russia toward fifth-generation fighter jets. Vadim Badykha, General Director of UAC, emphasized that the Su-35S plays a key role in modernizing Russia’s air power, with its advanced weaponry and versatility making it suitable for a wide range of missions in any weather. Powered by two Saturn AL-41F1S turbofan engines, the Su-35S can reach speeds of up to Mach 2.25 and is equipped with an Irbis-E passive electronically scanned array radar with a detection range exceeding 350 kilometers, allowing it to track and target distant objectives. With its capability to carry air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles, as well as guided and unguided bombs, the Su-35S proves to be a versatile platform for high-intensity combat and strike missions.
