Putin and Xi Tell U.S. to Back Off as Iran-Israel Conflict Boils Over

As the Iran-Israel war intensifies, global powers are stepping in to calm the escalating tensions. On Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping spoke by phone, denouncing Israel’s strikes on Iranian territory and issuing veiled warnings to the United States. Allegations of UN Charter Violations

According to reports from the Kremlin, Putin and Xi agreed that Israel’s actions violate the United Nations Charter and international law. Kremlin foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov emphasized that the leaders strongly condemned these strikes as breaches of international norms.

Support for Russia-Led Mediation

During the call, both heads of state reaffirmed their belief that Iran’s nuclear activities must be addressed through diplomatic channels, not military means. Xi expressed support for Russia’s mediation initiatives and stated that Moscow can play a constructive role in reducing tension and fostering a peaceful resolution. Israel Blames Khamenei for Hospital Strike

Amid global calls for de-escalation, Israel struck back. Defense Minister Israel Katz accused Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei of orchestrating the missile attack on a hospital in southern Israel. At least 47 people were injured, and Katz labeled the act a war crime, vowing to hold Khamenei directly responsible.

Escalation of Israeli Military Orders

Katz, along with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has instructed the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to intensify strikes on Iranian government and strategic sites—including Tehran—to neutralize threats against Israeli civilians and destabilize Khamenei’s regime. Tehran Denies Targeting Hospital

Iran has dismissed Israel’s accusations, stating the actual target was a military command and intelligence base located in Giv-Yam Technology Park near the Soroka Medical Center. The Iranian state news agency IRNA emphasized that the attack was aimed at military infrastructure—not the hospital.
