Khamenei Slams U.S. ‘Nonsense’ on Iran’s Nuclear Programme

Tensions between Iran and the United States have reached a fresh flashpoint as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei publicly dismissed Washington’s criticism of Tehran’s nuclear ambitions. Speaking during a memorial for late President Ebrahim Raisi, Khamenei issued a scathing rebuke, saying Iran does not need U.S. approval to enrich uranium — a right the Islamic Republic believes is non-negotiable.

Khamenei Calls U.S. Demands “Nonsense” and “Outrageous”

In his hard-hitting speech, Khamenei slammed U.S. objections to Iran’s uranium enrichment activities. “They say, ‘We won’t allow Iran to enrich uranium.’ That’s way out of line,” he said. Dismissing the warnings from Washington, he called them “nonsense” and “excessive.”

Iran Won’t Wait for U.S. Approval, Says Supreme Leader

Khamenei made it clear that Iran’s nuclear path is its own decision. “No one in Iran is waiting for their permission. The Islamic Republic has its own policies and direction — and it will stick to them,” he said, underscoring Tehran’s defiant stance.

Indirect Talks Going Nowhere, Admits Khamenei

Khamenei acknowledged that indirect talks with the U.S. — both under Raisi and now — have been unproductive. “They didn’t go anywhere — and we don’t expect much from the current ones either,” he said, indicating a bleak outlook for any immediate breakthrough.

Iran Frustrated as Nuclear Talks Stall Again

Tehran’s leadership is growing increasingly frustrated as negotiations remain at a standstill. With no real progress reported, hopes for a diplomatic resolution continue to fade.

Foreign Ministry: “No Final Decision Yet” on Next Round of Talks

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei told IRNA that no decision has been made regarding further negotiations. He cited Washington’s “contradictory and constantly changing positions” as a key challenge.

Trump Ramps Up Pressure: “Something Bad Is Going to Happen”

In a sharp warning last week, former President Donald Trump suggested Iran would face consequences if it didn’t accept a deal quickly. “Move fast, or something bad is going to happen,” Trump said, referencing what he claimed was a new proposal sent to Tehran.

Iran Denies Receiving Any Written Deal Proposal

Despite Trump’s remarks, Iranian officials insist they have not received any formal written proposal from the U.S. This discrepancy highlights the confusion and distrust that has long plagued U.S.-Iran diplomacy.

Khamenei’s Speech: A Turning Point or a Dead End?

With the Supreme Leader openly dismissing talks and the U.S. doubling down on its pressure tactics, the path forward seems increasingly unclear. Are we heading toward deeper conflict or simply more diplomatic deadlock?

Flashpoint Reignited: U.S.-Iran Nuclear Dispute Back in Headlines

The rhetoric from both sides suggests that the long-standing nuclear standoff is far from over — and could be heading into more turbulent territory as regional tensions simmer.
