Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauded the Indian Armed Forces for their precision strikes deep inside Pakistan, saying the destruction of terror infrastructure under Operation Sindoor was a moment of national pride.
“I congratulate the armed forces for the action they took yesterday and the courage and bravery they showed. Terror camps in Pakistan and PoK have been neutralised. It is a matter of pride for us,” Singh said.
Pahalgam Attack Forced Our Hand: Jaishankar
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar strongly justified India’s measured response to the Pahalgam terror attack, calling it a compelled action against cross-border terrorism.
“This barbaric attack compelled us to respond on May 7 by striking at the cross-border terrorist infrastructure. Our response was targeted and measured,” he said.
Jaishankar reiterated that India does not seek escalation, but made it clear that any military aggression would be met with a “very firm response.”

US Consulate Issues Urgent Alert for Lahore
Following reports of drone explosions and airspace incursions in Lahore, the US Consulate General issued an emergency alert, asking American citizens to shelter-in-place or evacuate the area.
“Due to reports of drone explosions, downed drones, and possible airspace incursions in and near Lahore, the US Consulate General has directed all its personnel to shelter-in-place,” the alert stated.
