Imran Khan’s Sizzling Bombshell: ‘Vindictive’ General Targets My Wife

Is Imran Khan's Jail Time Part of a Bigger Plan? The Shocking Political Drama Unfolds

Lahore, Pakistan — Jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan has assailed Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir for orchestrating a personal grudge against his spouse, Bushra Bibi, in a stunning new outburst. Khan blames Munir for his “vengeful nature” after he was removed as the director general of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), which has resulted in Bibi being “unjustly” detained for 14 months and brutally treated.

In an indignant X post on Monday, Khan indicated that the general had tried to approach Bibi through middlemen after he had refused Munir the ISI job when he was prime minister. “Bushra Bibi would not comply, saying she did not have any authority to do so,” Khan posted. “Ever since, Munir’s personal vendetta has targeted her with spurious cases and cruel life behind bars.” He went on to say, “What was done to my wife is unprecedented, even during Pakistan’s worst dictatorship.”
Khan, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, has been locked up in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail since mid-2023, facing multiple charges. He claims Bibi, a private citizen with no political involvement, has been falsely accused of “aiding and abetting” without evidence and subjected to relentless legal harassment. “I haven’t even been allowed to see her in four weeks,” Khan said, noting that a scheduled June 1 meeting was blocked in violation of court orders.

The “London Plan” and May 9 Fallout

Khan also tied Bibi’s plight to a broader conspiracy, dubbing it the “London Plan,” which he claims was designed to dismantle PTI, Pakistan’s largest political party. He pointed to the violent protests of May 9, 2023, when military installations were attacked following his arrest, as a pretext to crush his party. The intention was to arrest me, my leadership, and our staff, loot our democratic mandate, and install crooked individuals such as the Sharifs and the Zardaris,” Khan said while lambasting the army-backing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government.

Khan leveled the anti-terror judges and courts with being complicit in a campaign of “fascist oppression,” alleging that they refuse to hear stolen CCTV images of the May 9 rallies. Not one judge has the courage to summon evidence and make a fair judgment,” Khan claimed. “Our people are being sentenced on the basis of no evidence or fair trials.” He promised to file court petitions seeking the release of the video and demanded a judicial probe into the “massacres” of unarmed PTI workers on May 9, 2023, and November 26, 2024, in Islamabad.

A Judiciary Under Fire

Khan did not let Pakistan’s judiciary hold him back, calling it “disgraceful” and comparing Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa to notorious Justice Munir, whose rulings had once attracted international outrage. “The judiciary system is engaged, self-defense instead of justice,” he accused. There were convictions of 11 PTI activists, one of them a legislator, by a court last week for their role in the May 9 protests, when there was attack and desecration of defense installations.
Khan’s accusations come as he languishes behind bars in relation to several cases, with PTI activists being regularly targeted for crackdowns. His accusations of a personal grudge against Bibi and his party are bound to inflame tensions in the already polarized political environment of Pakistan.
