Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a direct appeal to the Iranian populace, urging them to overthrow their government. In a video message, Netanyahu said, “It’s time for you to unite around your flag and your historic legacy. This is your chance to stand up for freedom against a cruel and oppressive regime.” On the other side, Supreme Leader Khamenei promised a “harsh response” from Iran’s military forces.
Iranian Air Defense Activated Near Khamenei’s Residence
Iranian media released footage showing heightened activity of air defense systems in Tehran’s Moniriyeh district, near the homes of Supreme Leader Khamenei and the presidential office. This suggests Iranian air defenses intercepted a potential Israeli threat, although no official confirmation has been provided.
Israeli Forces Strike Major Nuclear Facility in Isfahan
Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson Efi Defrin announced that Israeli warplanes struck one of Iran’s largest uranium enrichment facilities located on the outskirts of Isfahan, Iran’s second-largest city. Defrin revealed that over 200 Iranian targets have been hit in the ongoing campaign.
Conflict Erupts After Friday’s Massive Airstrikes
The current crisis began early Friday when Israeli fighter jets launched airstrikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites, causing significant damage. In response, Iran fired kamikaze drones and ballistic missiles at Israel on Friday night, with several missiles landing in Tel Aviv. The tit-for-tat attacks have created conditions resembling an open war between the two nations.
