Jagran New Media : Join Our Team as a Sub Editor (Hindi)

Jagran New Media is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Sub Editor (Hindi) to join their vibrant editorial team. If you have a sharp eye for accuracy, a flair for engaging headlines, and a passion for high-quality journalism, this role is for you.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Editing & Proofreading
    Ensure all Hindi news articles, features, and multimedia content are grammatically correct, clear, and factually accurate.
  • Headline & Deck Writing
    Craft compelling headlines, sub-headlines (decks), and captions that draw readers in and accurately reflect the story.
  • SEO & Content Optimization
    Optimize content for online readability, search engine visibility, and social media performance using relevant keywords and formatting.
  • Fact-Checking & Verification
    Maintain journalistic integrity by rigorously verifying facts, data, and sources.
  • Story Structuring
    Enhance story flow and readability to improve user engagement and experience.
  • Multimedia Integration
    Collaborate with visual teams to ensure high-quality images, videos, and other media are correctly embedded and aligned with content.
  • Legal & Ethical Compliance
    Uphold copyright laws, ethical journalism standards, and defamation guidelines in all published content.

What They’re Looking For:

  • 2–3 years of experience in Hindi news writing or sub-editing
  • Strong command over the Hindi language (grammar, syntax, vocabulary)
  • Sound editorial judgment and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Experience with digital publishing, SEO, and content management systems
  • A background in mass communication, journalism, or related field preferred
  • Team player with the ability to mentor junior writers and sub-editors
