“Poshan Pakhwada” Celebrated at Community Radio Salaam Namaste, IMS Noida
Community radio station Salaam Namaste, located at IMS Noida, celebrated Poshan Pakhwada (Nutrition Fortnight) from April 8 to April 22. The campaign aimed to promote healthy and nutritious diets among children and women by combining traditional practices with modern technology.

The event was organized in collaboration with the SMART organization and under the health initiative “Sehat Sahi Labh Kayi” by the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Gautam Buddha Nagar. The program focused on spreading awareness about maternal and child nutrition through various community engagement efforts.

District Achievements and Community Involvement
Poonam Tiwari, District Programme Officer from the Department of Women and Child Development and Nutrition, shared the district’s progress under Poshan Pakhwada. She explained that this year’s theme revolves around Maternal and Child Nutrition, Digital Accessibility, and Childhood Obesity Prevention. A significant milestone has been achieved as the number of malnourished children in the district has dropped from 1,300 to 600.

She also emphasized the importance of the first 1,000 days of a child’s life and the effective use of the Poshan Tracker’s Beneficiary Module to monitor nutrition outcomes.

Barsha Chhabaria, Station Head of Salaam Namaste, highlighted the collaborative efforts with Anganwadi centers and ASHA workers to raise health and nutrition awareness among women and youth. Other notable attendees included Anjani Rai, Poonam Rai, Ritu Chauhan, and Vandana Srivastava. She affirmed Salaam Namaste’s commitment to continuing its partnership with ICDS for future community awareness initiatives.
