Panchayat Season 4 Review SHOCKER: Election Chaos or Total Flop? Secrets Unveiled!

Panchayat Season 4, released today, June 24, 2025, on Amazon Prime Video, delves once again into the eccentric lives of Phulera with its village panchayat elections as the sole plot.

Jitendra Kumar again plays Abhishek Tripathi, the city grad turned secretary, who has to play peacemaker between Manju Devi (Neena Gupta) and Kranti Devi (Sunita Rajwar) fighting over the pradhan seat.

The series begins on familiar terms, mixing humor with rural politics, but the election plot feels like an extended setup from Season 3’s cliffhanger.

The stakes are modest but fun, with samosas and aaloo serving as unlikely campaign weapons, bringing laughter while quietly commenting on village power plays.

Review Highlights Stellar Performances

The cast continues to be the season’s strength. Neena Gupta’s Manju Devi is a standout with her fierce but delicate performance, walking a tightrope between motherly instincts and political aspirations.

Raghubir Yadav as Pradhan Ji brings his signature gravitas, while Faisal Malik’s Prahlad introduces the depth of feeling with restrained sorrow. Jitendra Kumar’s Abhishek, worried about a counter FIR and CAT results, is the anchor the show relies on, though his romance with Rinki (Sanvikaa) gets a stasis and leaves viewers wanting more.

Supporting actors such as Durgesh Kumar’s Bhushan and Ashok Pathak’s Binod provide humor, but their storylines are repetitive, banking on established charm instead of new development.

Review Notes Narrative Stagnation

Although the simplicity of Phulera’s existence is reassuring, the season falters in pacing and plot advance. The election overwhelms eight episodes, but subplots—such as the unsolved shooting of Pradhan Ji and Abhishek’s fate—die out, leaving loose ends.

The fifth episode’s subplot involving Manju Devi’s father feels forced, adding little value. The show’s strength lies in its quiet moments—four men sharing beers by a fire with no dialogue—but the lack of a larger arc makes it feel static, a shadow of the organic storytelling that defined earlier seasons.

Review Assesses Cultural Impact

Panchayat Season 4 retains its cultural resonance, capturing rural India’s rhythm with authentic dialogue and relatable struggles. The satire on the election accurately reflects actual grassroots politics and resonates with X viewers who admire its authenticity.

But depending on nostalgia instead of innovating can wash away its bite. Streaming is strong, with initial word-of-mouth touting a hit, but critics say there is a decline in the acerbic wit that originally distinguished it.

The open-ended season finale teases the potential for a Season 5, asking questions about whether or not the show can move forward or needs to retire gracefully.

Review Verdict: A Solid Yet Safe Return

Season 4 is a mixed bag—cozy for the fans but without the oomph of its predecessors. It provides laughter and tears through its impeccable cast, but the uninspired plot and left-loose ends let it down.

When it’s good, it’s a relaxing dive into Phulera’s magic; when it’s bad, it’s a reminder of flagging returns. Watch it for now for the performances and nostalgia, but it’s the makers who need to revamp the direction to ensure Phulera’s magic stays intact.
