Why Deepika Padukone Walked Out of Prabhas’ ‘Spirit’
In a surprising twist, actress Triptii Dimri has officially replaced Deepika Padukone in director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s much-anticipated film ‘Spirit’, starring superstar Prabhas in the lead role.
The makers confirmed Triptii’s casting on Saturday through a social media post. Director Sandeep Vanga wrote, “Now it’s official – Triptii Dimri is the heroine of my film.”
Triptii responded on Instagram saying, “Still can’t believe this… grateful to be a part of this journey.”
According to media reports, Deepika Padukone had set certain conditions for her role, which included:
Not working more than 8 hours a day
A hefty fee along with a profit share
Avoiding Telugu dialogue delivery
These demands reportedly led to creative differences with the filmmakers, resulting in her exit from the project.
After winning hearts in ‘Animal’, Triptii Dimri is now stepping into one of the biggest films of her career. She will play the female lead opposite Prabhas in ‘Spirit’.
This film will mark her second collaboration with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga after their successful work together on ‘Animal’.
In ‘Spirit’, Prabhas will be seen playing a tough, intense police officer. The movie is being produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, with shooting expected to begin in 2025.
Fans of both Prabhas and Triptii are excited to see this fresh pairing on screen.
