Brian Austin Green Breaks Silence on Megan Fox Divorce: “It Killed Me”
In a recent episode of the Oldish podcast (May 5), Brian Austin Green opened up about the emotional aftermath of his split from Megan Fox, revealing the deep toll it took on him. The couple officially ended their decade-long marriage in 2021, though the separation began in 2020.
Falling in Love with Megan Fox
“She was a breath of fresh air coming out of what felt like Vietnam to me,” said Green, 51, reflecting on the early days of their relationship. “She forced me to laugh again and enjoy life.” Their connection began when Fox was just 18 years old.
A Relationship That Spanned 15 Years
Green and Fox were together for nearly 15 years and married for 10. Despite their long history, Green said the divorce caught him completely off guard. “I was devastated,” he confessed. “I honestly felt at that point like, ‘We got this.’ I think she believed it at the time too.”
A Family Shared
The couple share three sons together—Noah (12), Bodhi (11), and Journey (8). Green is also a father to Kassius (21) from his previous relationship with Vanessa Marcil, and Zane (2) with his current fiancée Sharna Burgess.
Understanding Fox’s Perspective
Green acknowledged that starting a family so young may have been overwhelming for Fox. “I understood it, but it didn’t make it any less hard,” he said. “It killed me—it was out of nowhere.”
Struggling to See Her Move On
Watching Fox quickly move on with musician Machine Gun Kelly wasn’t easy. Green admitted he felt jealous at times. “It was tough,” he said, referring to the intense media attention on their romance.
New Beginnings and Co-Parenting
Fox and MGK reportedly tied the knot in January 2022 and welcomed a baby girl together. MGK also has a 15-year-old daughter, Casie, from a previous relationship. However, their relationship ended in November 2024, shortly after Fox’s pregnancy announcement. The two are now focused on co-parenting their daughter.
Looking Ahead
Today, Green is focused on his blended family and building a new chapter with Burgess, but his emotional honesty shows just how deeply his past relationship with Fox affected him.
